Hubbard County Social Services Director Arrested on DWI Charges

Thomas Guy Sandberg,

According to the report, a Park Rapids police officer was patrolling Central Avenue North around 1:15 a.m. March 21 when he observed the vehicle in front of him crossing over the fog line. Sandberg was pulled over and after approaching the vehicle the officer noted a strong odor of alcohol. After a field sobriety test Sandberg was arrested and transported to the law enforcement center. Sandberg consented to a breath test which indicated a Blood Alcohol Content level of .18.

Because Sandberg is employed with Hubbard County, the case has been referred to Becker County for prosecution in order to avoid possible conflicts of interest. A special closed meeting of the Hubbard County Board of Commissioners has been set for March 24 to discuss charges and allegations regarding Sandberg.
