Hubbard County Reports First COVID-19 Death

CHI St. Joseph’s Health Community Health reported its first COVID-19 death from a resident who was between the ages of 75 and 79.

“We are sad to report the first death from COVID-19 in Hubbard County. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the resident,” said Marlee Morrison, Community Health Director for CHI St. Joseph’s Health and Hubbard County. “We’ve all watched the reports of COVID-19 related deaths throughout the state, but this death reminds of how important it is to take precautions to protect our community.”

According to state health officials, Hubbard County has had 85 COVID-19 cases so far, with two new cases being added today. The county has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, and there has been community spread in the area. Spikes were seen as a result of the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been four hospitalizations in Hubbard County due to COVID-19, but no one is currently hospitalized.
