Hubbard County Crash Causes Injuries

A two-car crash on Monday in Hubbard County left five people injured.

A report from the Minnesota State Patrol says the collision occurred when a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 71, made contact with a Saturn that was moving westbound on County Road 9.

The Trailblazer struck the driver’s side door of the Saturn, causing a serious injury to the driver, a 20-year-old man from Mahnomen. He was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

Two Saturn’s two other passengers, a 25-year-old woman from Naytahwaush and a 25-year-old man from Waubun, were moved to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with minor injuries.

The 81-year-old Trailblazer driver, along with his wife in the passenger seat, were also taken to Sanford in Bemidji with minor injuries.

According to the State Patrol, nobody in the Saturn had a seat belt on, while both the driver and passenger in the Trailblazer did.
