Hubbard County Boat Collision Leaves One Man Missing

After two boats collided Thursday evening, crews are looking for a man who went missing after the collision.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office says 73-year-old man and two other men capsized a 14 foot aluminum boat after colliding with a bass fishing boat on Fish Hook Lake in Todd, Minnesota.

Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes told WCCO that the 73-year-old is still missing. His name has not been released.

The lake was searched into Thursday night, but the search was suspended at dark. Friday morning, while helicopters searched from the air, crews brought cadaver dogs on search boats.

One of the other men is believed to be hospitalized in the Twin Cities, the sheriff’s office said. The two men in the bass fishing boat were not injured.

Hubbard County Sheriff Deputy Scott Parks said the cause of the accident is unknown, but alcohol was not a factor. The investigation continues.
