Hockey Trainer Arrested For Filming Player Showering

Hockey camps take over the Breezy Point Ice Arena during the summer. Most camps are hosted without a problem. But last week the Minnesota Girl’s Hockey Coaches Association rented the rink from Breezy Point Ice Arena. And one of the MGHCA camps athletic trainers William Diffley is facing charges after he used his phone to film one of the players showering after practice.

The Breezy Point Arena manager says while the athletic trainer wasn’t an employee of the arena, the security measures already used at the rink are what helped police identify and arrest Diffley.

This is the first major incident to happen during a hockey camp at Breezy Point. And the arena says they’re going to do whatever they can to reassure parents that something like this won’t happen again.

Freas says they’ve told their campers to stop taking showers after practice indefinitely and are considering what the appropriate response is towards the MGHCA who ran the camp and had been coming up to Breezy Point without incident for almost ten years.

A MGHCA representative says they’ve cut ties permanently with Diffley and they plan to reexamine their hiring and training process to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
