Highway 2 Motorcycle Crash Kills Manitoba Man

A motorcycle crashes into a van in Wilton and takes the life of a Manitoba man Friday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2010 Honda motorcycle driven by 66-year-old George Doherty, of Winkler, Manitoba, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 and a 1997 Dodge Caravan was westbound at milepost 107. The Caravan turned south to make a left at Third Street Northwest, crossing the eastbound lane of Highway 2 and the motorcycle struck the front passenger side of the van.

66-year-old Charles Hagen, of Bemidji was the driver of the Caravan and was wearing his seat belt but was not injured; Doherty was wearing a helmet, but was killed in the crash.
