Heavy Rains Flood Some State Campsites And Trails; Cause Dangerous River Conditions

Several off-highway vehicle trails and state forest roads have been closed due to heavy rains in parts of north central and east-central Minnesota. The rain has flooded campsites and other facilities at some state parks. Water levels on the Mississippi River and St. Croix will continue to rise on rivers and streams all across the region for the next several days.  The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources warns residents to avoid fast-moving, swollen rivers. Anyone planning to visit a park or trails in the next few days should check the DNR website for conditions before leaving home.
