Heavy Police Presence In Downtown Bemidji After Report Of Shots Fired

After reports of shots fired, law enforcement had a heavy presence throughout downtown Bemidji.

According to police scanner chatter Monday evening, around 7:00 p.m. authorities responded to a report of shots fired near the 300 block of 8th Street Northwest. Conversations overheard on the scanner claim that bullet casings and bullet holes were observed.

Shortly after, a few blocks away from the scene near the intersection of 5th Street and Minnesota Avenue, a suspect is believed to have been taken into custody.

Chatter overheard on the scanner reported that no officers were injured.
