Gregory Park Fountain Needs Repairs
Gregory Park is the first original park in Brainerd. And over time, some of the structures in the park have seen their share of wear and tear. Now, the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department seeks community help to rebuild one of the parks iconic structures.
Placed right behind the Gregory Park sign, along well known sixth street in Brainerd, the Gregory Park fountain used to be a site to see.
But over the years it has began to deteriorate.
And Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department is seeking funds for the 48 year old fountain. Funds that could cost up to 100,000.
In order to repair the damage, the fountain will need to be leveled to get to the pipes feeding back into the pool. But the only way that can happen is if the appropriate funds are in place.
The plan for the new fountain includes new pumps, spray jets, and lights that are better protected from people wading in the water.
