Grand Rapids Heading To State For First Time Since ’07


To get to State, the Thunderhawks knocked off nemesis and seven-time defending Section 7AA champion Duluth East when Alex Adams scored with less than 10 seconds to go last Thursday. For the hero, things have been a little different since then. But now with Grand Rapids’ first state tournament trip in nine years looming, the team is turning their attention to the games at hand. And without many of the perennial teams such as Duluth East, Edina, and Hill Murray, the Thunderhawks view the tournament as wide open, and theirs for the taking.
