Graduation Rates Rising For Area Schools

That has been the motto with area schools such as Pequot Lakes. Being a name, not just a number, as they try to prepare their students for success. Last year, Pequot Lakes graduated 97% of its senior class; a figure they have seen rise from 86% only 4 years ago.

Another school that has seen dramatic rises in their graduation rate has been Brainerd High School. They graduated 90% of its seniors last year, up from 87% the year before. Both schools are over the state average graduation rate of 81%, and the teachers are a big part of that, but they know credit is also due elsewhere.

However Brainerd and Pequot Lakes are not the only ones seeing their graduation rates soar. Nine different schools in the area have boasted graduation rates over the state average.

Other area schools (2013, 2014 percentages):

  • Aitkin: 89.5, 94.6
  • Brainerd: 87.5, 90.6
  • Crosby-Ironton: 92.9, 82.8
  • Little Falls: 93.9, 94.9
