Government Tours Dental Center

Prominent Minnesota government officials looked around a dental center that needs help today.

The Northern Dental Access Center in Bemidji serves up to 80 patients who are either in financial need or could use help a day. They come from 25 different state counties, and the numbers are becoming too large for the building to handle. As a result, they’re looking for government money to build a larger facility.

It’s a project that will cost $9 million to complete. A bonding bill from Gov. Mark Dayton, if signed, would provide $6 million of the cost. The center plans to match the other three.

The goal of Tuesday’s tour was to demonstrate to state health officials the importance of getting a new building.
