Good Food, Good Life, 365 – Honey Syrup

Honey Syrup

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

1 cup local raw honey

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add honey and stir until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in cinnamon. Serve warm with pancakes, waffles or French toast. Store leftover syrup in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. It will keep well for a couple of weeks. Warm the honey syrup before serving.

Sue’s tips

Use a mild honey for this syrup. Typically, the lighter-colored honey is milder than darker honey.
