Glazed And Amazing Winter Squash

1 or 2 winter squash of your choice, seeds removed, cut in wedges
2 tablespoons olive oil
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons pure syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking pan with parchment paper.
Place squash wedges on prepared pan. Brush all cut sides with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Turn squash wedges skin side up. Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes. Turn wedges flesh side up and bake another 20 minutes.
While squash is baking, place butter, brown sugar and maple syrup in small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until brown sugar is melted.
Remove squash from oven. Brush flesh with glaze. Return to oven and bake 10 minutes longer. Squash should be soft enough for fork to easily poke into it. Serves 4.
