Good Food, Good Life, 365 – Broccoli

Best-Ever Broccoli

1⁄4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

1 bunch broccoli (about 1 lb.), stemmed and cut into small florets

2 tablespoons water

3 cloves garlic, sliced

1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Kosher salt, to taste

Heat oil in a heavy 12″ skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add broccoli; cook, turning occasionally, until lightly browned, 6–8 minutes. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons water. Add garlic; cook until golden, 2–3 minutes. Add redpepper flakes; cook until toasted, about 2 minutes. Toss with lemon juice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Season with salt. Serve.
