Golden Apple: High School Food Service Honored

Bemidji High School was recognized by the federal government recently.

The Gold Award of Distinction, part of the USDA’s Healthier US School Challenge, was given to the school for its effort in providing healthy lunch options for students.

This includes fresh fruits and vegetables, a pasta menu and wheat options for the pizza line. Bemidji follows Kelliher as the second Minnesota school to receive this award.

School officials say regular gym classes contributed to their recognition.
