Golden Apple: Cup Stacking for Records

Northern Elementary is following in the footsteps of Paul Bunyan Elementary and helping to break a Guinness World Record.

The event is sport stacking, and the WSSA hopes to record the most people stacking cups in a single day. It’s a record they’ve held before, recording just over 592,000 participants in 2014.

Northern has just over 500 students taking part this year. Classes in grades 1 through 5 moved through the gym throughout the day; the school plans to continue with lessons for several more weeks, teaching the kids more advanced stacking possibilities.

The 2015 result is expected to be announced by Guinness near the end of the week.
