While the Brainerd Lakes Area saw an unseasonably warm Sunday, it was Frozen at Forestview Middle School. The Miss United States Queens hosted Frozen Brunch with the Queens to benefit the Minnesota Arthritis Foundation.
Minnesota Arthritis Foundation says arthritis is one of the most common childhood diseases affecting about 300,000 kids in the US. And Miss Jr. Teen Brainerd Kathryn Sundquist, who came up with the idea for the event, says has a personal connection to the Minnesota Arthritis Foundation.
Along with raising money for Arthritis, the Brunch with the Queens allowed local girls the opportunity to dress up as Anna and Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen.
Over 500 guests came to have French toast sticks for brunch, listened to stories and songs from Frozen’s Elsa and Anna along with dressing up as their favorite character, having candy and getting their faces painted. Also Miss United States Queens locally as well as from Wisconsin and North Dakota came to support the event.
