‘Friends of the Brainerd Public Library’ Kicks Off Semi-Annual Book Sale
The group Friends of the Brainerd Public Library kicked off their semi-annual book sale Wednesday morning at the Westgate Mall. Patrons lined up inside the mall to get their hands on used books.
Funds raised from books being sold will be used to fund various programs at the Brainerd Public Library. But the organization is looking to keep prices down for customers, with most children’s books being priced at 25 cents and most other books costing just 50 cents.
“The prices have not changed in the 20 years that I have been helping with the book sales,” said Judy Rardin, chairwoman of the fall book sale. “We want to get books into people’s hands, especially children’s hands, and to keep books affordable so people can read is really important.”
The sale will run through Friday, Oct. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
