The Fosston Greyhounds have sprinted to a 13-3 record. The team has won ten of its last eleven games and currently rides a five game winning streak. Fosston has been riding the defense the whole way. The Greyhounds have allowed fewer than 49 points per game; the seventh lowest average in Class A. Two big reasons for the strong defense are 6’6″ Lochlan Broadley and 6’5″ Cody Baumann.
The two big men also help spread out the offense. Baumann and Broadley bang the boards. Aaron Arneson snipes from the outside, and Darin Viken seems to score from anywhere and everywhere on the floor. Fosston reached the Class A state tournament back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012. Coach Ben Hemberger sees a lot of those teams’ features in his current squad.
