Speaking at his Bemidji home, Bemidji State University football head coach Jeff Tesch details the events leading up to his sudden leave of absence. BSU administration have not commented on the matter.

The news of Tesch’s absence came when a media day prior to the start of the football season was canceled in late-August. In a press release, BSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tracy Dill said Tesch would be on a leave of absence. The press release did not give a reason for the absence.

On the BSU athletics staff directory page, Tesch is still listed as the head coach. Brent Bolte is listed as the interim head coach while the investigation continues.

There will be a series of “restorative healing seminars” sponsored by the Inter Faculty Organization and the Bemidji State University Faculty Association beginning November 16th. Future dates have not been announced.
