First Responders Conduct Oil Containment Training


Accidents in nearby states involving trains carrying crude oil have raised concerns over the safety of Minnesota’s railways and the people living near them. with new legislation the Minnesota Department of Public Safety is providing oil transportation awareness training to local responders across the state.

This comes after legislation was passed in July 2014 that requires the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to provide awareness training to local jurisdictions across the state. Officials to plan to continue to expand the training dealing with oil spills also on running water.
