A Wednesday morning fire has burned down the Bungalow Taphouse to mostly ashes in Emily.

At around 2:45 a.m., the Emily Fire Department along with four other fire departments, Fifty Lakes, Crosslake, Ideal and Crooked Lake, responded to the scene.

Emily Fire Chief Kenny Roden said the dining room was fully engulfed when he arrived. Firefighters were extinguishing the fire until noon time. Roden said most of the property is gone, besides a small portion of the frame of the building’s newer section.

The bar and grill restaurant, built in 1903, is located on Park Avenue, off Highway 6.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

We’ll update this story as we get more information.
