Fight For Kaldyn: 6-Year-Old Battles Brain Cancer

Kaldyn Eichberg had just started first grade and he carries a super stylish mohawk.

Some call him a rockstar, and his dad calls him Iron Man, because underneath all that armor are battle scars from the past year.

For four weeks, Kaldyn had migraines, crying from the pain he felt in his head, occasionally throwing up. When they finally did a CT scan, doctors found a tumor in his head, as big as a golf ball.

At only 5 years old, Kaldyn was diagnosed with stage three of a rare form of brain cancer that’s usually found in adults.

He had about six surgeries and four tumor removals. This May, doctors found a new tumor forming in a different part of his brain. But that did not bring him down. Through all this, he carries his head high and fights through surgeries. Everywhere he goes he carries a light that fills the room.

Kaldyn is now on three months with no tumor growth, and his journey is only beginning.

You can show your support this Saturday at Ride for Kaldyn in Laporte. The ride begins at 11 a.m. at Laporte’s 3rd Base Bar.
