Federal Law Enforcement Activity Reported at Red Lake Child Welfare Building

Federal law enforcement agents were on the scene at the Ombindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog Child Welfare building in Red Lake on Thursday.

No information has been released explaining why the agents were there, but the Red Lake Tribal Council says it is aware of the law enforcement activity. According to a Red Lake Nation press release, no arrests have been made at this time and there is no known threat to public safety.

Red Lake Tribal Council officials are asking band members and the community to remain patient, respectful, and understanding while the investigation runs its course. They say they understand the community will have questions, and they added they will provide an update as soon as additional information becomes available that can be shared with the public.
