Essentia Health Releases Community Survey

A community survey conducted by Essentia Health provides details for issues in Crow Wing County.

The company uses town hall meetings, focus groups and surveys to find out what health concerns are affecting people in each of the 15 communities that has one of their hospitals.

According to the 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment, a reported 65 percent of adults in Crow Wing are obese. In addition, 36 percent have high blood pressure and 33 percent deals with high cholesterol.

Essentia says two of every three adults in the county do not meet basic exercise recommendations. The same percentage of adults do not eat five or more fruits or vegetables each day.

Their numbers also say one in four adults deal with a mental health condition. This includes depression and anxiety.
