Essentia Health Honors Organ Donation Families During Month Of April

Essentia Health, in partnership with the organ donation organization LifeSource, is honoring families of organ donors during the month of April.

On Monday, April 1, Essentia Health raised a flag at the main entrance of Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center that will be flown during the month of April to bring awareness to National Donate Life Month.

“The Donate Life flag serves as a symbol not only to promote donation but also as a memorial to those who selflessly made the decision to become organ, eye and tissue donors,” says Susan Gunderson, CEO of LifeSource.

According to a release, since 2013, 14 tissue donors from Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center have provided over 1,050 life-saving and life-enhancing tissue grafts, restoring new health and life for the recipients and their families.
