Downwind Murder Suspects Charged

Two men appeared in court for arraignment on Friday morning in front of Rose Downwind’s family and friends. Marchello Cimmarusti, Christopher John Davis and Brandon Rossbach have all been charged in connection with Downwind’s death. There is an arrest warrant still out for Davis.

According to a criminal complaint filed with Beltrami County, Cimmarusti admitted to causing Downwind’s death during a domestic dispute on Oct. 20, 2015. The document says all three men traveled to a woodland area north of Bemidji and burned her body before burying it in a shallow grave.

Cimmarusti has been charged with second degree murder and faces a bail of $1 million with conditions. Rossbach, who also faced a judge Friday, will face a bail of $500,000 with conditions.
