DNR Preps For Hunting Season, Maintains Walking Trails

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is gearing up for hunting season. Before the grouse season opener on September 13th, over 600 miles of hunter walking trails will be mowed throughout north eastern Minnesota. Hunter walking trails are most commonly used by upland game bird hunters, and trail maintenance is usually performed every other year. DNR officials say hunters can look forward to improving their skills this fall with easier walking and better visibility on the mowed trails. Hunter walking trails are reserved for foot traffic only.
