Dish Network Scam in Morrison County

Morrison County, MN – According to Sheriff Shawn Larsen, there is a scam circulating of a person posing as a representative from Dish Network, advising the caller that they need to change their receiver in order to get better service as well as a clearer picture.

Sheriff Larsen stated that, in this particular case, the victim’s personal information was not given out. Larsen wants to remind resident that if they receive an offer that seems “too good to be true”, it’s most likely a scam.

Residents have options if they find themselves in a situation like this, one of them being to get a call back number and have it researched. Scams are an ongoing problem nationwide and residents are encouraged to never give out their personal information over the phone.

Dish Network has been contacted and are aware of the current situation.
