Dayton declares June 7th as Prince Day

SAINT PAUL- Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has declared Tuesday, June 7, 2016 to be “Prince Day” in Minnesota.

“The proclamation issued today by Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith is meant to celebrate Prince’s life and many contributions – not only in arts and culture, but also in his many acts of service to his fellow Minnesotans,” the governor’s office said.

Prince was born June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis and passed away on April 21,2016 at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Prince would have been 58 years old.
