Daniel Jourdain Wins Bemidji City Council At-Large Seat in Special Election

Tuesday’s special election results in Bemidji have Daniel Jourdain winning the open Bemidji City Council at-large seat.

Voters in Bemidji went to the polls to elect a new member of the city council, where a special election was held to fill the at-large seat once held by Jim Thompson. Thompson resigned due to health reasons last summer.

Former mayor Dave Larson and Daniel Jourdain advanced to the election Tuesday following a special election last November that included four candidates for the seat. According to unofficial results released late Tuesday, with all precincts reporting, Jourdain will join the Bemidji City Council after receiving 524 votes (about 56%) compared to Larson’s 410 votes (about 44%).
