Culver’s Host Dairy Days Competitions

Dairy and the Midwest go hand and utter. And what better way to celebrate and promote Minnesota’s dairy culture than to have a cow milking, straw bale throwing and frozen custard eating contests.

Over 100 people came out to see elected officials like State Senator Carrie Ruud, State Representatives John Heintzeman and Dale Lueck as well as Brainerd Schools superintendent Klint Willert shed their normal white collar jobs and dawn a cowboy hat and get their hands dirty representing the Brainerd Lakes Area.

I stepped up to Cinnamon and had my first cow milking experience. Although I’m from the land of happy cows, there aren’t too many cows by the beaches of Southern California.

Culver’s was also promoting their thank a farm program because with out the dairy farmer, Culver’s wouldn’t have anything to serve to their customers.
