Crow Wing County Recognized for Financial Reporting for 12th Straight Year

Crow Wing County has received national recognition for financial reporting for the 12th consecutive year with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Financial Reporting.

According to a press release from Crow Wing County, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental and financial reporting and is given out by the Government Finance Officers Association. It recognizes a financial department demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate users to read its report.

“It’s something we take a lot of pride in,” said Crow Wing County Administrative Services Director Jory Danielson. “It’s providing transparency for our residents of Crow Wing County, how the money is coming in, how it’s being used, and the benefit to the taxpayers. This is really outstanding work by our finance team and the finance business managers across the county that we try to achieve this award every year.”

Crow Wing County is one of only 14 counties in Minnesota to have earned this award. The county’s financial reports can be found here.
