Crow Wing County Opens New Decontamination Station

AIS is one of the Lakes Area’s biggest problems, and now Crow Wing County is putting in place a simple solution to fight back. The station is open seven days a week, and is free to the public, and most decontamination can be done in about 10 minutes. There are mobile decontamination units available throughout the area, although sometimes they can be a little bit hard to find. So the only solution was a permanent decontamination station. And their only hope is to protect the area lakes from further infestation. The station is operated by DNR trained inspectors to ensure the process effectively and safely removes or kills AIS.
