Crow Wing County Man Dies After Boat Capsizes

A Crow Wing County man has died after his boat capsized on Thief Lake.

According to the press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Richard Sheik, of Pequot Lakes was found Monday afternoon along the south shore of Thief Lake about 20 miles north of Thief River Falls.

Sheik’s body was taken to the Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office in Grand Forks for an autopsy.

Sheik was believed to have been hunting in the area when his boat capsized.

The incident is under investigation. No foul play is suspected, according to the sheriff’s office.
