Crow Wing County DFLs Prepare for 2016 Election

On Election Day last November Crow Wing County voters supported the Republican candidates in every race. But last weekend was these Crow Wing County Democrats first step in helping their party regain those lost seats.

The convention also talked about the importance of getting high school students involved with the political process earlier. 21 states plus the Washington D.C. allow teens under 18 to pre-register to vote. And Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says pre-registration has nothing to do with political views.

During the convention Secretary of State Simon talked about the importance of voting and voter’s rights during his keynote speech and how they help maintain the integrity of our democracy.

The convention also elected new party officers, talked about the role of volunteers during the election and planned events for the 2016 election.
