Crow Wing County Considers Private Auditing Firms

Legislation passed last session allowing counties to hire private auditing firms instead of using the state auditors office. Crow Wing County is the next county considering this option. Because of this decision the State Auditor Rebecca Otto has decided to sue three counties. The Crow Wing County Administrator believes that the issue has already gained momentum. Essentially Crow Wing County like many other counties are looking for the best way to do their auditing whether it is the State Auditor or a private firm.
