Crow Wing County Board Considers New Sales Tax

The Crow Wing County highway and transportation system is in need of some maintenance and repairs. However, repairs have had to be delayed because of the large gap in the transportation fund. The approximate amount of the gap is four million three hundred and fifty six dollars; and it delays over one hundred and fifty miles of improvements each year.

To offset the gap the Crow Wing County Board has been assessing adding a new Local Option Sales Tax. If this tax would be implemented there are certain items that the tax will not apply too. If the sales tax is chosen to be applied the earliest it will be seen is in April of two thousand sixteen.
