Crow Wing County Begins Roadwork on Highway 12 in Deerwood
Crow Wing County started construction on Highway 12 this week.
The highway will undergo bituminous resurfacing from Highway 210 to Highway 6 in Deerwood. Work will also include culvert repairs, as well as installing multiple turn and bypass lanes.
There will be road detours at times until September 17th. Motorists should expect delays and use caution traveling through the work zone.
“The existing bituminous surface is starting to show its wear, its age,” said Jordan Larson, Crow Wing County Senior Staff Engineer. “By milling off those top three inches of bituminous, down a little bit into that existing top, and then by adding four and a half inches of new pavement on top of that, that new pavements going to help extend the life of that road for hopefully 20 years.”
Construction on Highway 12 is expected to be completed by the last week of September.
