Crow Wing Co. To Host 2019 Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Plan Wrap-Up

Crow Wing County announced Wednesday that they will be hosting a 2019 Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) prevention plan wrap-up presentation on October 9th at the Land Services Building in Brainerd.

According to a release, the presentation will detail the county’s AIS prevention efforts completed in 2019. Topics to be highlighted include the AIS prevention planning process, implementation of the plan, watercraft inspection/decontamination data, and education/outreach efforts.

Crow Wing County received $443,109 in local county aid from the State of Minnesota in 2019 as part of an overall allocation to counties based on the number of public landings and parking spaces. In 2019, Crow Wing County performed over 16,700 watercraft inspection hours on 43 public access landings across the county.

The wrap-up presentation is open to the public and will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Information about Crow Wing County’s AIS prevention efforts can be found at www.crowwing.us/ais.
