CRMC Debuts New Breezy Point Clinic

A new clinic has officially opened its doors in Breezy Point. Cuyuna Regional Medical Center held the official open house and ribbon cutting for their new $3 million, 10,000 square-foot facility.

When Cuyuna Regional Medical Center was looking to expand, they knew the perfect location.

“We looked at where our patients were coming from and we have quite a few that are from the northwest part of the county. The Breezy Point area, Pequot Lakes, even up to Pine River and Crosslake,” said Cuyuna Regional Medical Center CEO Kyle Bauer.

Six months before the new clinic broke ground, CRMC was approached by Breezy Point Resort and its parent company Whitebirch Inc., who wanted to invest in a development along County Road 11 in Breezy Point.

“The more we got into it, the more we liked the idea and once we met the management staff, including the CEO; it was love at first sight. We have what we call now “the renaissance of Breezy Point” because of the clinic being the anchor for this new development,” explained Bob Spizzo, Whitebirch Inc. CEO.

After about a year of construction, CRMC and members of the Lakes Area Chamber officially cut the ribbon Tuesday celebrating the brand new clinic. The facility will offer primary care services, lab and radiology, with general surgery and OBGYN being offered out of the clinic periodically.

“Many jobs will be right here in Breezy Point. Instead of going to Brainerd or St. Cloud, they’re going to be right here in Breezy Point,” added Spizzo.

In addition to the clinic, GuidePoint Pharmacy will also be opening in the building which is being called the North Star Center.

“The opportunity came to open up a pharmacy here in the Breezy Point area and be in the same clinic as them and we jumped at the chance,” said Mike Schwartzwald, GuidePoint Pharmacy owner.

CRMC and the community of Breezy Point believe that the new clinic will greatly benefit the city and surrounding area.

“It’s been nothing but positive reaction from the community here and they’ve been so supportive of us,” Bauer said. “We’re just excited to be open.”

“There’s such a need in the area. A wonderful opportunity for the local people as well as the tourists that come through,” said Lisa Iverson, pharmacist at GuidePoint. “I think it’s going to just add to our great community that we have here.”
