The creator of the double meat sandwich with special sauce also known as a Big Mac has died.

Michael ‘Jim’ Delligatti was 98.

McDonald’s spokeswoman Kerry Ford confirmed that Delligatti died at his home surrounded by his family on Monday night.

Delligatti invented the sandwich almost 50 years ago and it’s still a popular item on the menu.
