Over 6,000 Newly Reported COVID-19 Cases Reported Monday

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 6,353 new COVID-19 cases today along with 24 newly reported deaths.

There were 1,591 new cases per 100,000 people in Minnesota over the past two weeks, which ranks sixth in the country for new cases per capita. One in every 120 people in Minnesota tested positive in the past week.

Three of the deaths came from residents in the Lakeland viewing area:

  • One in Aitkin County of someone aged 70-74
  • One in Crow Wing County of someone aged 80-84
  • One in Itasca County of someone aged 60-64

The new cases came from 57,105 tests for a case positivity rate of 11.1%.

In the Lakeland viewing area, the state reported 593 new cases in the following counties:

  • Aitkin – 41
  • Beltrami – 67
  • Cass – 45
  • Clearwater – 18
  • Crow Wing – 90
  • Hubbard – 41
  • Itasca – 36
  • Koochiching – 5
  • Lake of the Woods- 6
  • Mahnomen – 8
  • Mille Lacs – 34
  • Morrison – 33
  • Polk – 59
  • Roseau – 47
  • Todd – 37
  • Wadena –26
