Cori Reynolds Wins Brainerd Outstanding Educator Of The Year Award

The Brainerd Jaycees selected their final recipient for the Distinguished Service Awards. Today, they made a surprise visit to the Washington Educational Services building to award the Outstanding Educator of the Year award.

This year’s winner is Cori Reynolds, who is the Director of Community Education for Brainerd Public Schools. Reynolds has been working in her position for five years and is instrumental in providing Brainerd students opportunities for lifelong learning. Reynolds is especially thankful for all the great community members that have made Brainerd home for her and her family.

“It’s more than a job, I do this job like it’s a vocation, like it’s a calling, because that’s what it is for me, it doesn’t feel like I did something extraordinary,” said Reynolds. “It just feels like I’m one of the thousand Brainerd Public School employees that pour their heart and soul into making sure that kids get all opportunities that we can give them; this is home, so whatever you talk about what home means, that’s what this place means to me and my family, we just love it.”

Reynolds will join with family and friends on October 24th for the Distinguished Service Awards hosted by Brainerd Community Action and the Brainerd Jaycees.
