Vikings traveled the world before the year 1,000 A.D.
They settled in England, Iceland and other countries during that time. There were some countries conquered, but the common belief that these people were barbaric warriors, according to a retired Scandinavian Studies professor, is false.
Members of the American Swedish Institute’s Bemidji branch learned all about their Norse history in a lecture he provided.
