Community Spotlight: Two Spirit Awareness Day

With Pride Month celebrations held nationwide, the Leech Lake Indian Reservation took pride in supporting its own LGBTQ community, also known as Two Spirit, a culture that stretches far back into their Native history.

Two Spirit Awareness Day is about keeping the sacred traditions and culture alive again.

Organizations and city officials came out to show support. From free HIV testing to infographics, it was a platform of resources presented Friday.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to education, awareness and love.
