Community Spotlight: Brewing Beer with Jack Pine Brewery

Jack Pine Brewery has 11 beers, Dead Branch Cream Ale, Duck Pond nut brown ale, Fenceline pale ale, Ice Out IPA, Incognito amber ale, Vengeance jalapeño ale, Big Buck buckwheat beer, Trespass imperial porter aged in a whiskey barrel, Nitro Fenceline and Duck Pond infused with Coffee. And all of them are made locally for the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Most Saturdays the craft beer community is welcome to see how Jack Pine brews their beers. The grain starts in the mash ton and mixes with hot water. Then the liquor is transferred to the boil kennel where the hops are added. It’s then transferred through an exchanger and chilled to about 60 degrees to fermenters where it ferments for about three weeks. It then goes into the bright tanks where it chills and carbonates before being kegged and later poured out of the tap.
Gull Dam Brewery opened in Nisswa last fall and Big Ax Brewing Company is expecting to open this spring. But if you’re looking to tour the Brainerd Lakes Area’s first brewery, Jack Pine Brewery email Aaron Larson at [email protected] or call him at 218-270-8072
