Bronze sculptor Gareth Curtiss works closely with Bemidji’s Shaynowishkung statue committee to replace a beloved but dated lakeside statue of Chief Bemidji. Hear from some of those on the Shaynowishkung committee, (Carolyn Jacobs, Sandy Kaul, Mitch Blessing & Kathryn “Jody” Beaulieu), which dedicated years to finding a just and accurate representation of the man for whom Bemidji is named.
