If stitching in the ditch is a term you understand you may well enjoy this segment of Common Ground if the term is a mystery all with be explained during the show by the accomplished quilters from Breezy Point, Minnesota. This program also includes a visit to an upscale Bemidji restaurant to learn how to create a Japanese form of poetry known as Haiku.

In Breezy Point, civil war quilt patterns compete with place mats, embroidery, dresses for Africa and appliqué as members of the Quilting Guild share about their work and the reasons they enjoy quilting.

At the Sparkling Waters restaurant in Bemidji viewers get to meet Marsh Muirhead an accomplished raconteur, pilot, dentist and author as he shares excerpts from his latest book “Her Cold Martini — Haiku.”
